The density is 14.5 g/cm3, melting point is 3875 ℃, boiling point is 5500 ℃, tantalum carbide powder is a kind of important metal ceramic material, the cutting tools made of it can be resistant to the high temperature of 3800 degrees, and its hardness is equivalent to that of the most famous diamond. As tungsten carbide grain refining agent, it can improve obviously the performance of alloy, the consumption reaches 0.5 to 5% of tungsten carbide carbide production.
